definitely an improvement over the previous version. I had the original pair and these I received as a gift for my best friend. the top layer is thicker and surely fit comfortably. They also have a great construction and can withstand rainy weather and wet. probably good up to temperatures in the 10s-20s. After that you can associate with the other layer with a thicker inner layer. My only wish is that the inner layer should be full-touch friendly as the outer. otherwise
